SOARING house prices have increased the percentage fees earned by estate agents to unacceptable levels, according to a member of a new working group set up by the Government to examine the sector.

The Director of Consumer Affairs, Carmel Foley, claimed agents were earning "huge" fees which were out of proportion to the amount of work actually done.
