Summary


EIGHTY-five people have been murdered by loyalist paramilitary groups since they declared their ceasefire 10 years ago. The Ulster Defence Association killed 23, the Ulster Volunteer Force 21, the Loyalist Volunteer Force 18, the Ulster Freedom Fighters two, the Red Hand Defenders eight, Red Hand Commandos two and 12 others were executed by unspecified loyalists.

December 22 - Noel Lyness, 47, Catholic civilian. Killed by non- specific Loyalist group. Found beaten to death in entry off Ebor Street, South Belfast.

1995

September 28 - William Elliott, 31, Protestant Red Hand Commando. Killed by Red Hand Commando. Shot while leaving friends house in Bangor, Co Down. Internal dispute.

November 27 - Norman Harley, 46, Catholic civilian. Killed by non- specific Loyalist group. Found beaten to death off Cavehill Road in Belfast.

March 21 - Thomas Sheppard, 41, Protestant UVF. Killed by UVF. Shot in Towers Tavern, Ballymena, Co Antrim. Internal dispute.
