A TRIP by the Queen's cousin to islands in the South Pacific cost the taxpayer nearly pounds 150,000.

The Duke of Gloucester -19th in line to the throne - and his wife had been asked to attend Coronation of Tonga's King George Tupou V. The shocking amount was revealed as Buckingham Palace figures showed the Queen and the Royal Family cost 69p for every taxpayer last year - an increase of 3p.
