GAA PRESIDENT Christy Cooney has moved to reassure Carlow that they will definitely play in the McCarthy Cup next year - and insisted the senior hurling Championship has not been thrown into disarray.

A ruling by the Disputes Resolution Authority that a Westmeath motion passed at the Annual Congress for a one up, one down promotionrelegation system was not eligible has put the structure of the hurling competitions in doubt.
